Best pissed off straight edge lyrics poll results

Judge backstage at City Gardens, Photo: Ken Salerno

Judge's classic EP opener "Fed Up" takes the cake, but I think it is interesting to note that it was also the first song choice listed in the poll, and I'm sure that had something to do with some of the votes it got. Considering that "In My Way" has a less pissed off sounding title but far more pissed off lyrics, with lines like "Those drugs are gonna kill you, if I don't get to you first," it's interesting that Fed Up was the clear winner and "In My Way" grabbed only a few votes. But as far as we can see it, if your choice was between these two, there are no losers.

Perhaps the ultimate straight edge anthem, "Straight Edge Revenge" took a predictable second place to Judge. Don't get us wrong, it's a true SE anthem and pissed enough, but the seriousness of PX has been brought into question over the years. Judge on the other hand...well that is no laughing matter.

Whether you were straight edge in the past or straight edge in the present, there is no denying the sheer brutal honesty and power of JUDGE lyrics. It can be a an uphill battle if you fall outside the social structure that involves drinking or even recreational drug use, but if you ever need some lyrics to help cement your feelings, having Mike Ferraro's words handy is probably your best bet. "I'll try to keep my cool..." -Gordo DCXX

I remember people, myself included, used to think that 'Mike Judge' was Mike Ferrara's name. People would have serious discussions as to whether or not he was the same person responsible for Beevis and Butthead.

Good poll. Mike Judge, sold out. Porcell, sold out...lied...came back with open arms. Judge ruled. YOT ruled. I hope they got paid. Hare Bol.

Side Poll: Do you think it's wrong for a SXE band to play a reunion for fun/memories/friends (not money, because that obviously blows) if any or all of the members are no longer SXE, or at one point broke edge... Regreted it... and came back?

I vote not wrong, and I'm edge.

Good poll Gordo!

I think that when Project X put out that record, they had no idea that a quick project recorded in an afternoon would resonate so profoundly in the HC scene and 21 years later people are still buying it and talking about it.
