Somehow or another, through out the 18 years since it's release, the fact that the Supertouch "The Earth Is Flat" LP was originally to be a gatefold layout has completely eluded my knowledge. When I stumbled upon these gatefold mechanicals and original layouts, sitting in a folder at the Rev HQ, I was virtually speechless. Not only is "The Earth Is Flat" a personal favorite of mine musically, but the layout and design of this record has been a huge influence on some of the design work I've done as well. Seeing this layout as it was originally to be, really makes me wish I could have seen a finished product like this. I have a feeling this gatefold design would have made an already phenomenal layout that much more impressive. -Tim DCXX

There should come a repress with a gatefold sleeve...
Re press? They should pay us a royalty first.
Or a second press, if it stays on Revelation. Maybe the term 're press' was misplaced here. Just wishing it would happen that's all, because I totally like this record also.
Even though this would have been cool if it had surfaced, it's nice to see an instance where someone was going to do a gatefold sleeve and then decided against it. It seems every LP that comes out these days is gatefold.
I would love to have this on vinyl, strangely enough the other week I got this on tape. Perfect record.
good record, i have ot in cd...
it seriously breaks my heart to know this shit is sitting in some damned joint lock n key. TEIF deserved better. you heard me.
oh man...those are bad ass looking pictures...
second pic from the top. and then, second row, the pic on the right. i'm pretty positive i saw a picture of TEIF with this photo on a cover. it was in a WE BITE records catalog from the early 90s
