Ken Salerno on Victim In Pain

Just got back to the east coast and wanted to put my two cents into the AF Victim In Pain post. Since everyone is commenting on how that album changed their lives and such, I thought I'd do a photo essay because AF was one of those bands that was soooo easy to shoot. These photos are all from City Gardens. Randy Now (CG's show promoter) was always nervous about a few bands that were regulars because of the NO SLAM DANCING, NO STAGE DIVING rule put in place by Frank "King Tut", the owner of City Gardens. Randy had to take shit from Frank, parents and Trenton police(on occasion) if the bands went off big, and AF ALWAYS went big. Anyway, here's what I saw at the time. Kudos to Roger and AF for still being out there. Over/Out, Salerno

To be continued...

Fantastic photo's. This band speaks to me so much more than any youth crew band ever could. And I'm a straight edge dude.

This show was November of 1990

Huol, i beg to differ. this is the "liberty and justice" line up circa - spring/summer of '88. i still remember them rolling through albany with sheer terror on this tour, doesn't get much better!

There are actually photos here from 2 different shows. One I believe to be from 88, the other most likely from 90.

at least some are from 90 - those are the shows right before the amnesty shows in the city with GB and SOIA - This is pretty soon after Roger got out of Jail - there were a shit load of people thrown out through the door stage right as the night went on...

the long haired Roger ones are from 90 (just so you can tell the difference)

Check the walls in the background. These were shows at City Garden's in Trenton. Short hair photos show City Gardens on the walls. As for the long hair shots it's still City Gardens as there are two friends of mine in the photos. One on stage working, wearing a mesh ball cap and long hair with a o ring bracelet on his right wrist. A long time CG employee at the time. So FWIW all show photos were made in Trenton, NJ.
