INTRO BUST
Welcome to DOUBLE CROSS - an online fanzine dedicated to the hardcore we love... past, present, and future. The goal is classic fanzine vibe and content, with stories, interviews, photos and more - updated every day through the week. While this might be a "blog," we want it to go beyond what that term typically represents.
And while we are undoubtedly straight edge and will put the best straight edge bands at the heart of this site, in no way does that mean we won't be featuring all of of our other favorite hardcore bands here as well.
Check out the below links for more info on us, as well as what we have been putting up here since beginning construction in March '08. Get in touch if you wanna contribute or just say what's up.

Crazy, I was expecting to see a tidal wave of divers - YOT are tight as fuck tho. What the hell to the guys in the front!? A guy twice your age was doing a handstand right in front of you and all you can give him is a couple finger points and blank fucking stares? Yeesh. Turn in your hardcore badges.

Looks like we start to see clearly what happened to hardcore in the last 20 years..
It's cool to see YOT having fun with it. Ray genuinely seems psyched to be playing the songs and to be playing with the guys. Good for them.
People can say what they will about Ray Cappo, but for a guy in his mid 40's, he is in far better shape than most dudes in their late 30's. I for one applaud his efforts to introduce healthy living to hardcore kids across the globe!

belgium has a big "mtv" metalcore scene, but not a very good "real" hardcore scene. Ray still looks young, jumping and with lots of energy, but he has lost his voice completely. the band sounds good, more in control, less chaotic.
That's bullshit, maybe the metalcore was pretty big a few years back but there's loads of bands lately in various forms of hardcore.
And I think most kinds were at the tessenderlo skatehappening show that was also that day. Since that was free and the following bands played:
Blacklisted, Reproach, Sunpower, Black Haven, Your Highness, The Crackups, ...
also YOT went through a rather big, non-hardcore booking agency this time in europe. there was very little promotion for their tour in HC-circles so some people didn't even know about the tour going on and shit. oh well, they probably got good guarantees every night, haha.
I would've dived if the room was filled with people.
I don't want to dive and land on my face or break my foot again. The show in Essen was great, hoping for some video's of that soon.
There were a lot of people at the show. The large stage did not help exactly. The show was great, the crowd was into them, but not like in '89. Thanks for the link to my video.
BTW, Belgium always had a great hardcore scene, talk to bands who toured here. One of the best shows here for me personally, was YOT in '89, and als Project X played, check the videos on youtube. Talk to anyone who was there back then. Belgium had a great hardcore scene, it is different now, but it still is great. Also check the Belgian crowd shot in the MRR photobook in the 80's. Those who say Belgium has no good real hardcore scene don't know what they are talking about.
I admit, this show might not have been the best crowd ever, but talk to a lot of bands like I mentioned above, and you will hear great stories.
